St. Paul’s is blessed with a dedicated staff and church council who are committed to serving our congregation and community.     Rev. Scott Anderson

    Pastor

    Pastor Anderson was called to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in August of 2012. He attended Wagner College and received his MDIV from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. Pastor Anderson is a second career pastor. His previous employment was primarily in sales and marketing. He was Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Wake County NC in the 1990s. During his time at Habitat Pastor Anderson also received a Certificate in Nonprofit Management through Duke University. He then taught in the Nonprofit Program for 11 years. Pastor Anderson is married; he and his wife Kathy have one daughter, Rev. Marsha Anderson. Pastor Anderson loves to read, play golf and shop for antiques with his wife.

    Rev. Amanda Highben

    Associate Pastor, Duke Lutherans

    Called to serve as the Duke Lutherans Campus Pastor in 2020, Pastor Amanda was ordained in 2016 after twelve years in youth and family ministry. She received an MA in Christian Education from Luther Seminary and her MDiv from Trinity Seminary. She's served diverse congregations in a variety of settings, including downtown Minneapolis, MN, inner-city Columbus, OH, and the college town of East Lansing, MI.Pastor Amanda loves to read, hike, knit, watch college basketball (GO BLUE DEVILS!), visit her favorite Durham coffee shops, and practice yoga. She cares deeply about ecumenical and interfaith ministry and building a community of grace where all students are welcomed as beloved children of God.Pastor Amanda’s husband Zeb is the Director of Chapel Music at Duke and associate professor of the practice of church music at Duke Divinity School. Their energetic, music-loving daughter Cecilia (Ceci) is also an honorary Duke Lutheran.
